Home Run Inn was open in 1923 as a small tavern on Chicago’s South Side. The tavern received its name when a baseball from the neighborhood park smashed through the front window. By 1947, the iconic pizza recipe was created and that same recipe is still used today in Home Run Inn’s 9 pizzerias and frozen pizza sold in over 35 states.

In 1947, after that baseball made history, Mary and her son-in-law, Nick Perrino, crafted the iconic Chicago pizza recipe known today. HRI Pizza is not a gluten-free facility. We follow strict guidelines in preparing our gluten-free products, which includes baking the pizza in the manufacturer’s pan, but cross contamination can still occur.
